MMBN Tabletop - Smile — Description

In the main Netbattlers Discord, there's a regular series of tabletop games called the Netbattlers Club, where you take a single Battle Network character and bring them through a variety of oneshots. It's not unlike Neverwinter Nights and going through a series of modules.

Rust and BitMan.EXE have been pretty popular with the others, and Rust has been repeatedly establishing himself as a nice and friendly and cheerful boy that can get along with everyone.

However, in one mission, a good chunk of the school got brainwashed by HypnoFlash. Rust grabbed a staplegun to defend himself and he then proceeded to staple a good chunk of the brainwashed kids.

("Staples aren't that long. They'd only penetrate the skin, it'd be effective as a painful deterrent but wouldn't cause lasting damage." "How does Rust KNOW this?")

In my excitement, I spoke without thinking and said that Rust was smiling. Which came as a bit of a shock to the others.

That scene stuck out in my head.

I suppose even a nice boy like him has a darker side.
