Description

**Updated 6/8/2025with Gozyu Polar!**

I've made quite a few Sentai/Ranger group pics before, but I thought something like this would help illustrate all the suits and colors we've seen in the past ~50 years.  The point of it is to make an easily understood visual reference of which colors have been used, frequency of use, etc.  I've seen other attempts at things like this, sure, but some don't have pictures, aren't up-to-date, or aren't uniformly scaled so it looks all wonky.  As I've made all the helmets, everything is to the same scale and I'm dumb enough to keep making them every year, so staying up-to-date isn't a difficult task.

The columns are arranged chronologically by series.  The rows are arranged by frequency of color use.  As red and blue have appeared in every series, they are at the top, dwindling down to gray and brown which have only been used once.  It shows everything in a clear cell grid without my usual overlapping layered grouping style, and although I love the grouping style, this infographic is better served by clear sections.  There are different indicators in two corners of a cell as explained below.

The bottom right of a cell indicates the core/non-core status of a ranger as indicated by Gokaiger and the versions of Super Sentai Getter.  A blank corner indicates a core ranger.  A corner with the number '6' indicates a "sixth ranger" (or in two cases a pair of "sixths").  A corner with an 'X' indicates an extra ("bangai" hero") ranger; basically any non-core ranger or hero who is not deemed a "sixth" by the parameters looked at.  I know in recent years some Toei reference books have termed any/all non-core rangers as extras.  And that's fine, I just like to continue having the actual distinction between a "sixth" and "extra".

The helmets shown typically indicate one suit/character.  It excludes any recolored versions of heroes like Dark Hurricane Red and Black Toq1.  This also does not indicate any identical helmets/suits/titles which were passed from one character to another, save for the Demon Hunters due to drastically different designs.  I am aware characters have died and others have taken up their colors, but I didn't feel the need to include this note anywhere.  As shown, this does not include the typical evil rangers, so omitted are the following: Hanaranger, Neijiranger, SPD A-Squad, Enter ver. Beet Buster.  This also does not include unofficial Sentai (sorry/notsorry Akibaranger fans), nor alternate reality (Go-Busters HBV alt.), nor "homemade/dream warrior" allies...or any non-ranger suited allies for that matter.  So there we go!  Now you can easily reference the entire history of Super Sentai and Power Rangers colors.

If you want to see a version of this with evil rangers, allies, dream rangers, stage show rangers, etc etc, I do have this super all inclusive "Ranger" infographic:

The 2021 update includes some lines between Sentai-PR to kinda show the order of adaptations. So MMPR feeds from Zyuranger and Dairanger, with a lil dotted line from Kakuranger, even tho the Alien Rangers exist.  Megaforce feeds from Goseiger and Gokaiger.  The other lines show the order of PR adaptations.  I dunno, I thought it'd be interesting to see it kinda jumbled.  If also really goes to show how fewer and fewer series/rangers PR has compared to Sentai.  Sentai has some 280+ helmets above, and PR has 140ish; another couple years and Sentai will have doubled PR...again.  Just interesting to note, I suppose.
