jem... sketch — Description
yet another art block breaker... also from the famous 80's animation, jem and the holograms...

i must say, what is it about 80's cartoons that makes it so nostalgic & memorable...? jem, alvin & the chipmunks, thundercats, ghostbusters, transformers, my little pony, and so so many more... although todays animation has come a long way, most of them couldn't come close to how great these old cartoons...

anyway, the character... well, obviously, it's jem... i chose not to draw her in her usual getup, but rather my fave dress from the series... the broadway magic dress... it's very pretty & fashionable especially with those large ruffles...

while drawing this, i had to constantly tell myself, smaller eyes... smaller eyes... this is a cartoon, not an anime... didn't seem to work very well i guess... her eyes r still huge...

oh well... it's is done in my style, with the big head & everything...

jem is a character from the animation, jem and the hologram... this is sketched with mechanical pencil 2B lead (0.5) in about an hour...
