Multi-Cultured Tea Table — Description
This is a Japanese Tea Table made from red clay. The designs on all three sides of the table is my version of the Hopi pottery. I got the idea of the three sides from ancient Hopi ceramics and three legs from the chinese song dynasty. While The table is meant to be a tiny japanese tea table. As for the sides, each one has a meaning from the design. The first side is based on the wild nature of Nature (Trees/Vines). As nature is free and wild, This side is visible side. The second side represents man-kind destroying Nature as they make clear for development. Finally Side three shows Death of nature as a life-less man made building is visible where nature was. This piece is meant to show the horrifying acts that mankind does to function day to day. The finishing is to make the table look black marble with bronze inbreeded in the marble.
