Celestial Glyphs - Design Commission — Description
Extremely fun commission finished for Nomho of Glyph! This was a challenge to be sure but I wanted to go all out, and it was worth it. I based the feather wings off of magpie and great blue heron wings, and in doing so I learned quite a bit about different wing feathering and portraying iridescence. And by that I mean I knew very little and this showed me that haha. I'm pleased with the results and glad I gained a new area to study!

As I was developing this character, I inadvertently made the canvas enormous, and had trouble experimenting with colors and patterning because of it. The brushes had to be huge which caused lag, and it sat for a while until I realized "Duh, make smaller sketches and play with the colors like you did with Kiha's redesign!" Once I remembered that part of my process this girl was smooth sailing. I really hope you all enjoy this piece! Till next time!
