Lightning is my new photography obsession ^_^

Everyone here is absolutely fine...though I decided to go in after the brightest bolt of lightning I had ever seen hit about half a mile away. It must have hit a power transformer or something because all the lights in the neighborhood flickered and then the sky pulsed this sickly blue-green color for fifteen seconds or so. The thunder was so freaking loud...yeeeaaahh...that was about enough outdoorsy time for me...

It was pretty windy, but not as bad as it sometimes gets. It wasn't raining when I took this shot really...just sprinkling. By the time I went in the house is was POURING.

Sometimes during the summer we go without rain for weeks, but this year we've gotten a little bit almost everyday...

I think mainly 'cos it's the great lakes region and all that. If the conditions are right, in the evening heat a lot of thunderstorms pop up over the water then lumber onto land. We've had a LOT with really big hail this year too, which isn't normal either. Who knows
