Charas shock over the accidental death of Toriel took her and Frisk back to the moment before the battle began. Since their trait is DETERMINATION they can still

remember the now erased timeline, but due to the erasure it feels only like a distant dream. Neither Chara nor Frisk know about their

trait abilities which is why they both are so confused and aren't able to explain what happened, so Chara doesn't even get the idea that they may have turned back time and

interprets it as a vision of the future ~
