I really don't want to start a debate, but I have a pathological aversion to authority, and naturally I love watching a bunch of people telling the man to piss off. Although the way I see it, once private property is damaged (like in London) then the rioters lose all legitimacy.
Basically so long as you're fighting against the government (or any entity) that wants to invade your privacy/take away your rights, then I'm behind it 100%.
Granted, these riots had nothing to do with the previous statement, therefore I don't support them. But at the same time, it's nice seeing a group of people getting pissed off at something (mostly because Americans seem to have forgotten how to protest).

Love the capture and how much it conveys the changing face of journalism. I am troubled, though, that a few assumptions have been made around the world that this was about hockey or that this is a reflection of Vancouver, or sports, or sports fans, or Canada. It is none of those things, in my opinion. This is certainly not the first riot of this variety *cough cough MONTREAL cough cough* and I doubt this will be the last. I've lived in enough Latin American and European countries to learn what could potentially happen to your ass during a football game, or what happens when two longtime rivals engage in a game of rugby. That said, I've seen the riots over "democracy" and riots over a man's beating. I've seen riots due to the failure of government or an oversight of the courts. Usually the ignition is not the cause. When you stack a bunch of dry rotting wood in one area and light it with a match, no one should be surprised it catches fire.
And congratulations on the DD. Riot or no, I still would have loved to have seen that game. When it comes to hockey, there is nothing to compare to a game seven.

Participating in a riot in today's digital world is just so lame. Everybody can document any happenings to any place, any moments. Anyone could recognized your face: your girlfriend, your parents, even your boss and your future boss. it's totally uncool.
