The android Galatea was constructed for some rather... unsavory purposes, but errors in her programming made her inappropriately assertive for a 'companion' droid.She beleived that androids were in no way inferior to organics, and in some ways superior. So when she discovered the creation of Andrea, a 'droid unaware of her nature, she took full advantage and exploited Andrea's indistinguishability from humans to further her cause.
Eventually Andrea loses her mind, and needs to be destroyed, after which Galatea expresses apparently genuine sorrow. I think Psycho!Andrea may have to recite Shakespeare at some point. "If you prick us, do we not bleed? If you tickle us, do we not laugh? If you poison us, do we not die? And if you wrong us, shall we not revenge?"
Galatea was the name of Pygmalion's wife- the beautiful woman he carved out of marble.
