In Another Reality...03 - The Conclusion — Description

And so here we are, to what I guess Stan the man might have described as ‘the story title we never wanted to reveal.’ He was referring of course to the fate of Gwen Stacy. But in this alternate 'what if' style reality MJ’s kinda getting a bad ending here too. (Though maybe not from her blissfully clueless perspective. Ignorance is bliss after all!)

But in this case it would probably be something like, “What if the Superior Spider-Man continued to woo Mary Jane Watson?”

For those that don't know the story, in the original Superior Spider-man continuity, Otto Octavious stole the body of Peter Parker. And after quite a few botched attempts, and to the absolute powerless horror of a ghostly remnant of the real Peter Parker, still in his head that only Otto could see and hear, Mary Jane finally started to give in to Otto's advances. However just as he's about to seal the deal, he gets an almost out of character attack of a conscience, and backs out of it.

But then…what if he hadn’t gotten cold feet and had continued his seduction of her? The poor unaware Mary Jane would have no idea that she was being diabolically tricked, and won over by her one true love’s mortal enemy. And thus could have all too eagerly given up her goods to him. Then if they had continued down that dark path then, well maybe this could have been the ultimate result.

Now the guests, originally I had envisioned it maybe having a little bit of a tip of the hat to that more metaphorical wedding annual cover that had some villains on one side, and a group of heroes on the other. But we mixed it up a bit with the other more real world based civilian cover that also came out at the time, in terms of putting the guys in proper suits for the wedding. Thus the presence of Steve Rogers, Matt Murdock, and Johnny Storm.

Steve, of course being the nice guy that he is, is trying to show the proper respect for the proceedings. But Johnny no doubt on the lookout for talent has been given the unexpected eye-bulging sight of one of his ex-team mates in some not so appropriate attire for attending a wedding. And Kingpin entering the building would certainly set off all of Daredevil’s alarm bells.

Now of course these villains are not alone. With their own ‘dates’ for the occasion. Not that said dates are there of their own free will. With them being commanded to dress (Or maybe I should say half dress?) entirely to salaciously please the evil men who have stolen their hearts and minds. More of course the latter, with the Ringmaster involved. So here we see the Kingpin no doubt paying off the Ringmaster for the nice job he did on Felicia Hardy. I also thought it’d be wickedly amusing if the Ringmaster, with his hands full, had She Hulk accepting the payment too, since he can use her in absolutely any way he feels like! And to that effect, he’s got her wearing again the famous eye catching outfit John Byrne gave her in the original She Hulk graphic novel.

Now with Felicia’s dress I asked Rosepab to make it as scandalously looking as possible, beyond even anything the Black Cat would wear to such an occasion. Sort of like what you would see attention figures like Ciara wearing to Oscar bashes and the like. And he certainly matched that really well.

I had also considered Norman Osborn attending. Which is why he got tried out in a black suit in the last set of pics. But ultimately, there’s too many folks to cram in. Which is also why Logan didn’t make the cut on the other side as well. Even though that would have more closely matched the heroes on one of the wedding covers.

But yeah, lots of evil doings going on here. Not least of which is Otto himself giving a cruel teasing thumbs up to the now eternally suffering real Peter Parker, who’s ghostly form may be soon departing to the clouds in the sky. No doubt to get away from seeing his own personal hell realised on this Earth. (He certainly wouldn’t want to be sticking around to witness the Wedding night for instance!) So yeah, a real twist in the tale for this little set of wedding pics. I mean by comparison, maybe the regular continuity didn’t get it so badly after all, if they avoided the consequences in this twisted reality. Because no matter how horrid you think things can turn out, it can always be worse!
