Description ...and sharpest tongue.

I saw The Company Of Wolves last night. It's sort of a darker version of Labyrinth, full of some pretty heavy symbolism.

It inspired me to draw this, and I don't know who looks scarier: The Wolf or Little Red.

It's my favorite movie of all time Love

And I find the artwork very much in the mood of the original. Very well done. I love it Heart

Oh yes, the symbolism blows me away every time I watch it! When I had watched it for the first several times I was young and didn;t understand much of it, yet it mesmerized me. Later I've read psychological analisys of the symbols and my eyes opened anew :D (Big Grin) And I started to love this movie even more Love I have bought even japanese edition of it on vhs xd

Wow!

Yes the symbolism is amazing. Have you read the short story it's based on? It's part of a collection of stories called The Bloody Chamber by Angela Carter. The whole book is amazing.

Yes, I think I remember the story. I've read the anthology some years ago. The story concentrated upon the encounter of Girl(Rosaleen) with the Werewolf, right? There were also other stories: Wolf-Alice and othe 'adaptations' of fairy tales. But I prefer the movie (although I normaly prefer books). It is just more complex, and well, I've just seen it first :D (Big Grin)

I love this so much.
I always thought the movie had both similarities to Labyrinth and Interview With a Vampire. :) (Smile)

Very well done

"As you're pretty, so be wise.
Wolves may lurk in every guise.
As then and now, 'tis simple truth:
sweetest tongue holds sharpest tooth."

Neil Jordan's film is an underrated horror classic. I really like your composition. The color tones are very medieval, it seems, faded, not too bold. I love your mise–en–scΓ¨ne: they are both of equal height, their eyes nearly match up, very much like the story itself: who is the wolf? Where is the threat? After all, the whole film takes place within a young girl's mind.

Excellent. Fine work.

Thank you!

I stained the paper with coffee to give it that "Old-world fairytale" feel.

The reason I liked the film so much is it portrays coming of age exactly as it is: bittersweet. Yes, there is a loss of innocence, but it's the price we pay for gaining the rich experiences adulthood has to offer.

I enjoyed your comment-- I glad you liked it!

Lovely use of colours in this.

I like this one very much.

:) (Smile)

I've seen Company of Wolves ages ago (sometime in the 80s^^), but I remember at least parts of it. I can see how it would inspire you to do a "dark" version of her :) (Smile)
