While the rest of us in Alpha-6 were busy rounding up the remaining INS, Delta-Two went after the Pirates. Apparently their ship was cloaked until now and that's why we didn't see or detect it on the drop in. Reports from our overwatch team came in that the ship had decloaked and was preparing for takeoff. After the initial snipers started attacking the Innies, it seemed the rest of them booked it for their ship with some cargo. I didn't catch all the details but from what the Innies said I guess the alien shits double crossed them and wanted to bug out. Today wasn't their lucky day though; Delta-Two was on the way to rain on their parade.

As we met up with Ivan and the civilians he was guarding, we heard D2 engage the T'vaoans from across the compound. The gunfire didn't last long before their ship began to take off and I wondered if they even waited for their own people. I'd heard stories of Covenant infighting and squabbles and while it's not like this attack was on a large scale, until today I didn't even think there were Covenant races operating outside their genocidal conglomerate. Maybe they had more in common with humanity than we all wanted to think but none of that would change the past twenty-odd years. All of those assholes have what's coming to 'em. I don't believe there's a way out of this war that doesn't end up with one or both sides wiped out so there's no chance in hell I'll ever be breaking bread with those aliens.

Just as I thought the pirates had made their getaway, I heard Zaya call in an air strike. I didn't think she had the necessary equipment on her but I guess I've underestimated Spartans a few times now. A few moments after she announced she was lazing the target, a blinding light pierced through the clouds and split the ship in two. Goddamn I love watching MAC rounds in action; such a pretty sight, especially when it's the Covenant getting their ships obliterated instead. If there was any chance the aliens saw it coming I hope they shit their pants before biting the bullet. To make their day worse, Delta-Two even found an injured one and brought it back to the rally point with them. If it didn't bleed out before the transports got here I imagined ONI would be having a nice long chat with them just like the INS we rounded up. I hope someone throws in a few good punches for me. Otherwise, I'd say this mission went by the books for the most part; it's been quite a while since we've had an Op not go south. Here's hoping things stay that way.
