{-Personal log, LCpl Judas T. Morrison. Date Log Created: October 20th 2548}

Thanks to Farrah's leadership we managed to stay out of contact with any more of those creatures. None of us knew how many there were in such a large facility but fighting a half-dozen was difficult enough. I didn't want to imagine what would happen if those things gathered in numbers. While I was in between Farrah and Vega as we moved through the dim corridors, I did my best to keep track of my spare ammo. I'd spent two mags of BR ammo back at the Innie camp and probably 3 M7S mags on these monsters. That didn't leave me with a whole lot in case things got even worse but it'd be enough for now. Even though Vega had a BR as his secondary, ammo was obviously finite and falling back on his SRS-99 inside the facility wasn't the most feasible. I could only hope that wherever we were being led to had a stockpile or we'd certainly be up shit creek.

It felt like it took an eternity to reach our destination, winding through the corridors or backtracking to avoid wandering monsters. Even with guidance I began to wonder if we had gotten lost or were wandering into a trap. Just as my thoughts got the better of me, Farrah held up a closed fist and we halted immediately. She turned around and depolarized her visor before mouthing the words "This should be the place,". As if on cue, a door next to us slid open and a voice beckoned us inside. Watching both directions of the corridor, the three of us backed inside until the door closed and we were finally safe-at least for the time being.

Greeting us inside the grungy room was not an Insurrectionist at all but an imposing figure nonetheless. Clad in a set of what looked like gray and drab modified ODST armor, complete with a drab-green helmet was the person who had guided us to safety. I didn’t recognize their armor permutations as anything standard issue and it even took me a moment to realize another ODST like us was standing behind them. This guy was at least a good foot taller than I am and not very talkative. None of us were, really. I wasn't entirely sure what was going on until I saw the familiar triangle-shaped emblem on the first person's uniform. ONI. What a fucking surprise.

This was definitely the same person that spoke to us on the radio but it came as a surprise that they were in fact male. This room wasn't equipped for surveillance but considering his connections I didn't find it odd that he had ways to watch us. If he could hack our comm channels then he could likely hack the facility security cams. As far as the man himself, he had the same smug aura I could hear in his voice despite it being seemingly soft and calm. You could see it in the way he carried himself, too, just standing there all authoritative. "Congratulations," he said to us in that same smug tone. "You made it here alive. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. You may call me Mikaelis. Now, if we can get down to business, we have a mission to complete."
