{-Personal log, LCpl Judas T. Morrison. Date Log Created: October 19th 2548}

Despite the situation Vega cracked a joke about me being cozy with Farrah for still holding onto her shoulder plate. I know it's his way of coping with things but I immediately let go so I could shove him into the wall for being a jackass. Beyond that I didn’t do anything because I knew it wouldn't help, though I really wanted to deck him in the face. Farrah was still frozen and I knew she needed help so that's where I diverted my attention to. I went back to her and tried shaking her into reality but it took a few moments before her VISR depolarized for me to see her face. Even in the dim light I could see how wide her eyes were, an expression of pure shock.

I tried to calm and console her about what happened but I'm not exactly the best at these things. I told Farrah that she couldn't blame herself for Sandover's death; the Sergeant made her choice to push us and it cost her her own life. As reassuring as I could, I told her that she was next in the chain of command and that we needed her guidance. That got some sort of reaction out of her at the time but it wasn't much. I couldn't tell if she was torn up about having that responsibility or if us genuinely needing her gave her some form of hope. I never got to find out at that time though-our heart to heart was interrupted.

All of a sudden we heard a high-pitched screech and then a bit of static before a voice spoke to us over our helmet radios. In some sort of soft, eastern accent the voice said "I'm surprised you're still alive but that's good. I can get us all out of here but I can only see you, not hear you. This will be a mostly one way communication so I'm going to have to trust that you can follow my direction to the letter. Can you do that?" Despite the softness of the person's voice they carried a hardness, a stern air about them. I wasn't entirely sure if I trusted them. I'm glad I did though. After the three of us exchanged looks in the dim light we simply nodded, unaware of where the security cameras were. The voice continued. "Good. Now I'll need you to listen to me very carefully."
