This was the day before Hurricane Charley touched down. It was SO COLD and WINDY. there were a few sparse people on the beach. Some swimming, some surfing. The waves were really high, and breaking quite early. The sand was completely flat from the way the wind had blown it. And the sky just looked surreal.Related content

the waves were SO huge! it's pretty rare to see surfers, because the gulf is usually so calm, but as soon as the hurricane was announced, they all came out of hiding
