Description Trey awoke to the sound of something deep and terrible.

His bloodshot eyes snapped open, before immediately slamming shut against the the grit and dirt of his surroundings. He rolled from his stomach onto his back, and a shrill crinkling sound struck his ears.

Finally, rubbing the door away from his eyes, he looked up to the sky. Or at least, what he thought was the sky.

Surrounding him on all sides and scaling up hundreds of feet, crinkled plastic lined the inside of some massive cylinder. Above this, the familiar city skyline disappeared into the morning fog.

What happened to him?

He recollected his thoughts as best he could. He had been walking downtown, home from the corner store after picking up a water bottle and a pack of cigarettes. He was walking behind some woman, when she turned around and made some sort of conversation with him.

What did they talk about?

Before he could continue his train of thought, a shadow fell over him and his surroundings. Looking up, something monolithic slipped past–leaving the earth shaking beneath booming footsteps as it went.

Trey nearly fell to his knees at the sight of it. Or rather, her.

What would otherwise should have been some otherworldly titan was really just a construction worker. Long brunette hair brushed past olive skin. He tried to make out a face, but from this distance, she appeared as if she was covered in a haze, miles away from him.

Her eyes, however, did clearly point down into his location. They seemed to lock directly onto his.

It was only then he realized how small he truly was.

The morning shift was always disgusting.

Maria was a foreman (or forewoman, rather) and didn't have time to pick up after her technicians all the time. But no matter what, every morning, they'd leave the trash cans on-site overfilling and bottles of cheap booze littered around. It was a wonder the project manager didn't fire every last one of them.

That was something Maria hoped to avoid by showing up thirty minutes early. She had been walking from trash can to trash can–clearing out any contraband or crushing the overflowing bins down with her boots.

She had almost finished before spotting the one trash can nearest the edge of the job site. It was almost against the fencing that separated the new construction from the sidewalk that lined the downtown.

She made her way over and glanced down to see if anyone had left pills or something, when something caught her eye.

Glancing in, a little bug atop the wrappers and other filth inside the trashcan seemed to jump at the sight of her.

The tiny nuisance was harmless, of course, but given how sick and tired she was of her crew, it wouldn't harm anyone to quickly take it out on the poor insect.

"Hey little guy," she spoke aloud, softly, down into the trash can. Her right foot lifted from the dirt and raised into the sky. "Looks like you're my stress relief for today."

She moved her boot over the edge of the trash can. She could almost swear she heard the little thing chirp up at her. Ew.

Without another word, she sent her boot crashing down.

Trey's mind raced quickly back to last night. It was all coming back to him.

He had struck up a conversation. She was avoiding him, but he figured he was disarming enough. It had been over a year since his ex moved on from him. He was hoping for a nice out. Maybe a quick screw.

The next thing he knew, she shoved a vial into his arm, and everything went black.

Well, it certainly wasn't black now.

"Hey little guy," the voice boomed above him. The timbre of her voice seemed to vibrate deep within him. Trey's eyes darted around the trash can for any sign of escape, but there was nothing but the trash beneath him and a water bottle next to him. The very same one he had seen last night.

That bitch must have shot me full of S-serum and thrown me in the trash, Trey realized. Not that it really mattered now.

All around him, thick clumps of dirt fell from the sky. Darkness started to overtake him.

He squinted his eyes and raised his head to the sky to see dry, dirty rubber obscure his view of nearly everything.

"Looks like you're my stress relief today."

All at once, Trey started to scream up at the giantess.

"Down here!! Please!! Help me!!"

He screamed as hard as he could, but it was ultimately useless. The woman's dark eyes locked onto him, and she gave a sort of smirk as she lowered her boot into the trash can.

The air rushed and roared around him as it shifted to account of the massive incoming object. The gusting winds knocked Trey to his knees.

He could only look up in horror as the weight of a freight train crashed down upon him.

There was a terrible crunching noise that rang out, but it wasn't from Trey. Not yet.

He was helplessly pinned between her boot treads and the trash beneath him. He felt his stomach dropped as he was quickly shoved deeper and deeper into the trash. It only lasted a second.

Beneath him, the trash began to push against the incoming boot as it compressed–with Trey caught in the middle.

He hardly had time to scream before the pressure exponentially grew. His final moments were filled with the terrible sound of his bones crunching to dust beneath an uncaring woman. Someone who only wanted to squish a bug.

Was that so bad?

It was his final thought before his body gave out–smushing into paste and smearing deep into her treads.

Maria felt a small pop beneath her foot as she leaned forward.

There, she thought to herself. Nice and squished.

She removed her boot from the trash can and didn't even bother to look and see if her victim had been disposed of.

The trash was compacted now, and it was time to move on with the day.

"If I could only do that to these assholes," she muttered under her breath as her crew's familiar truck entered the job site.

"I'd crush the lot of them."
