Description
➤Erroot – The Root Nematode Pokemon
Bug/Ground type —— 50% Female/50% Male
【Stats】
HP: 20
Attack: 34
Defense: 20
Sp. Attack: 26
Sp. Defense: 40
Speed: 70
Total: 210
【Abilities】
- Sap Sipper
- Regenerator (Hidden)
【Dex Entries】
- Ever-hungry, Erroot dig in search of plant roots to leech off of. Their root-like tails help them hide from undiscerning predators (and gardeners.)
- Erroot have been found in all regions, but only in Mythoa are they remotely easy to find. Kalikant predation has made the Mythoan Erroot much more active and battle-ready.
➤Timberoot – The Tree-Inhabiting Pokemon
Grass/Ground type —— 50% Female/50% Male
Evolves from Erroot when holding Big Root at level 20 (and on)
【Stats】
HP: 102
Attack: 108
Defense: 86
Sp. Attack: 108
Sp. Defense: 86
Speed: 40
Total: 530
【Abilities】
- Quick-rooted - Sets up ingrain upon being sent out, and is able to switch out with ingrain active (moves like whirlwind and dragon tail still fail to force switch it out)
- Regenerator (Hidden)
【Dex Entries】
- An Erroot that manages to fuse into a tree becomes a Timberoot. The original plant is still alive but is controlled and contorted at the parasite’s whim.
- Timberoot have only been documented in Mythoa, suggesting Erroot have adapted this evolution as a response to the heightened predation. They can cause powerful earthquakes using their now true root-tail.

This is a redesign and kind of a rework of my root worm fakemon idea from a while back:

I still really liked the initial concept but it felt kind of confused with the first stage both leeching off of and helping roots?? So I've amended that by leaning hard into the leech side - especially after learning about root-knot nematodes and realizing how well that fit my initial concept, more than just an earthworm (though the earthwormyness is still there.)
This new concept is pretty morbid, but thankfully it's a plant-affecting nematode, not animal or human. There's definitely potential for a morbid regional variant or something, but I'm not planning on making it.
Also I just want to note that Timberoots still get predated on by Kalikants, but the massive boost in power gives them much more of a chance to fend off the ants. It's also thanks to this evolution that trainers in Mythoa even bother with Erroot, everywhere else they're just considered pests and almost never caught for battle.
Also also I realized that Timberoot is unintentionally a sort of dark counterpart to Pebbally and Likendread. Parasitism instead of symbiosis.
The name Erroot combines erode + root, and Timberoot adds timber to it + almost sounds like brute at the end.
