Slipping -Part 1- — Description
Soooo...this is just a small comic I started. I thought the song
Slipping
fit him well...or at least his personality. I'll probably upload more as I go along with it.

I also needed a place to put his Bio. Officially.
I added a couple of things~

Maddy Jay Hatter

Powers/Weapons: Maddy's only weapons are himself and his shadows, though he can do a number of things with just those two things. He doesn’t use his shadow, more like demon shadows and long tentacles or vine like shadows that emit like an aura around him or from nearby shadows. He can also 'morph' into a shadow himself, though very rarely will he do this. He can also maneuver through shadows, using them as transportation or a portal to a lightless room where the floor is like a thin film of gooey water-like mess. The angrier he gets or the more he becomes injured the more powerful he becomes as he looses his comprehension and pity. If he is pushed past a certain point he will start to ooze, his skin falling off to reveal a body made of black goop. This is where his movements become almost mechanical and only his pupil-less eyes and large inhuman smile can be seen through the ooze. Maddy isn't indestructible like most people like to make their characters. Because really, who want their OC to die? Maddy does have a backup though, and he can only use it once per fight. (hopefully he doesn't come across a string of fights in one day, ha-ha.) This backup being: He makes a copy of himself. If hit it breaks into large pieces like Porcelain or Glass China and then turns into small wisps of shadow. It give shim enough time to come up with a strategy if needed.

Personality: Maddy can switch from shy and introverted to confident and social within moments, which may be a small case of bipolar disorder. He's quiet a gentlemen despite his ever changing emotions, always using 'Miss, Mr. Mrs.' in front of someone’s last and even first name. Maddy has anger problems and when his anger gets the best of him he becomes a pain inducing pitiless machine of death. He's very confident most of the time except when it comes to his age. He knows he's an old geezer even though his looks would say otherwise...he get easily discouraged because of this. He is wise and catches onto things rather quickly, so it's hard to keep secrets from him. He also has a knack to be 'fashionably late'. He loves surprising others and vice versa though it rarely happens. He can't bake or cook to save his life--He has a slight cannibalistic problem. He doesn't enjoy getting himself into trouble or fights if possible.

History: Maddy's real name is William Osteller. (Middle names weren't a popular thing during the renaissance.) He was a young boy at 14 when he started his clock make and trade as a watchmakers apprentice. It was a fairly booming business back in his day for the spring powered clock was a wanted thing among rich families since it had just been invented. His life was fairly simple, though his family was a poor family he earned enough money to teach himself to read and write by buying books. His parents taught him his manners and eating eticate; schooling helped as well(after he was old enough to start his own shop of course and pay for it). That was where he met Gracey, the love of his life. She was rich, yet her manners were mediocre and her personality was that of a girly tomboy for she loved purple and didn't enjoy being pushed around or made fun of. Maddy found her independence and personality alluring and within a year of their friendship she was to be married to him. This was were the trouble started. Gracey's family didn't really approve of Maddy...they only wanted her to be married into a wealthy family--which Maddy happened to provide. They decided that she could find someone else and so they sent a group of hired men after Maddy to make sure he wasn't to be seen again. Gracey overheard the family's discussion and went to warn him...but instead she ran into the men and tried to stop them herself. They wouldn't stand for it and despite their orders threw her into the nearby river. Maddy saw it from a distance and when the men had gone out to find said man he tried to save Gracey. Unfortunately he was too late and she had drowned by the time he pulled her out. Something occurred to him, however...because of his love of reading he was not picky in what exactly he read and thanks to this he came across something known as Shadowmancy from the Kasumarii tribe in Cyhalloi. He made a deal with the shadows; if they saved Gracey he would give them his soul for eternity. They held up their side of the bargain...but Maddy being young had not thought to specify where to put her own soul and thus they used his hat as a sort of evil little joke. His little top hat had been transformed into what it is now, resembling Gracey's purple dress with a large bow tied at her back. Maddy was both excited to hear her voice as she sat on his head and angered at the shadows for their prank...and through his anger he had found the men and dismembered them that very night and left what was left of them in the town's square. Over the years Maddy and Gracey's love had faded, for she wasn't pleased with her new form, her only way of communication being that of telepathy. She constantly(and still does)complained about how her only movement was of her bow like hands. At first Maddy was guilty but soon he became angered and they both came to the conclusion that they both mad mistakes and that they really didn't love each other. They were simply friends. Maddy hadn't realized how long eternity was, his powers growing over the many decades as well as his outfits, and his ever slipping grasp on his mind...though his prominent, insanely large hat and his constant tittering to himself in public gave him the nickname of 'Mad Hatter' by the 19th century in London by the towns folk. So, since everyone only new him as 'Hatter' he changed his name to 'Maddy Hatter'. It wasn't until a small girl in the 20th century had asked him his full name out of curiosity had he made up his middle name 'Jay'. Of course he wasn't a man to go without his 'manly needs'. He had several lovers in his long life, yet each one of them died of a disease and he eventually stopped trying. Every now and then Maddy helped someone with his powers as well, finding out that even though they were a burden to him they could be helpful to others. Nowadays though he finds himself wandering about with a certain woman, Royal Anthony~
