Six Fanarts #1 — Description
Heeeyyyy, I'm back. Took a few days off to spend time with my partner since it was his birthday. Also dealing with some unpleasant things at home right now. I decided I wanted to finish this meme I started about a week ago or . . . longer than that . . . since I hadn't posted anything in a few days and I've been wanting to wrap some things up. I have been seeing lots of fun art memes floating around during the pandemic, and I wanted to try my hand at some, i.e., the Animal Crossing thing y'all saw me do earlier, and then this one! I was really excited to do this one because my FB friends have really good taste in fandoms, and I knew they'd have some great suggestions for me!

I always love getting to draw Pokemon in my style since I like combining their designs with more realistic features from existing animals, so I had fun drawing Drilbur to be more mole-like, and I especially enjoyed drawing my beautiful Milotic babe all sea serpent-esque! Milotic's been one of my favorite water-types since Gen 3, and Drilbur is adorable, too.

I also got to work on Rainbow Quartz 2.0, which was a character whom I thought was interesting in the show, but never really though too much about. Getting to draw them made me appreciate their design a lot more.

Luna is adorable and was one of my top favorite characters from Harry Potter. I actually had a Webkinz pet back in the day named after her, LMFAO- The glasses kicked my ass, but I wanted to include them.

Thermite was suggested by one of my friends/roommates, and he ended up being my favorite character to sketch despite being the one I was the least familiar with. I don't actually play Rainbow Six, but my friends and brother do, so I've watched their games a lot. I don't recall seeing them use him a lot before, but his design is somewhat more simple than some of the others, so it was nice practice.

Killua was a pleasant surprise to be asked to draw! I haven't seen Hunter X Hunter in AGES, but I liked his character a lot, so it was ncie to get to draw him for the first time!

All in all, this was a nice exercise! I don't draw many humanoids, and I BARELY ever shade/light things like this anymore, so getting to work with clothing and skin tones and stuff with some new brushes was a lot of fun! I used a rougher textured blend tool to shade and add detail, where I normally use watercolor blend or blur. I love how it turned out, and I'm thinking I might use it more.

Which of these guys is your favorite? I'm really feeling Milotic and Thermite, but like, Rainbow just has this queen energy and I'm here for it-
