More from "This is what a Feminist looks like" project. Inspired by the Women's Studies classes I was taking and the T-Shirt project done a few years ago. Because, well, What do you think a Feminist looks like? Some crazy radical who doesn't shave her legs and armpits? lesbian perhaps? Stereotypes.

You never know who is a Feminist, sometimes you can tell by looking but most of the time not. That is why I put this series together to show the diversity. I will admit that I do not have as much diversity in this first run as I would have liked, but is an ongoing never ending project for me.

Mary, our department secretary, was another person that came forward and wanted to be apart of the project. The ERA bracelet she has on was the one she wore when the Equal Rights Amendment was being brought up to Congress in the 1960's and then finally added in 1972.

I would love to do a side by side, of this photo and one of her wearing the bracelet back then.
