Scene is Cy is in pieces on the floor at the side of his bed. His hand is holding the phone to his head for a call. Says to his boss on the other end, "I can't come into work today." - "What?! Why not?" - "I stubbed my toe this morning..."
For continuity, probably have his footpaw toe-first into the leg of his bed.
