Metroid Samus — Description

It's been some time since the announcement of Metroid Ravenous, when people got hyped and there were lots of great art with Samus. I love metroidvanias, so I thought I'd participate.

I don't have that much time to draw, but everyday I set aside 10-15 minutes to work on a piece, 2 minutes of warmup and 8+ of working on the piece, and when I'm done for a day, I put a checkmark on the top of the page. This pic took me two weeks of small sessions like that. It is quite slow, but it's much better than nothing. This is the first piece with this system and I hope it will prove to be sustainable habit.

This one is more of a mixed media piece, Base the same as usual, pencil sketch, ink lineart and colored with copics, but then I used water-soluble wax pastels on top, some corrector fluid for white parts (which was a mistake) and some white gouache for highlights and effects. Finished as usual in Photoshop with minor tweaks, cleanup and color correction. Hope you liked it!
