Influence Meme Thingy — Description
It's meme time! i guess i should tell you a bit behind each of these influences.

Rob Renzett:
My Life as a Teenage Robot is one of the most defining cartoons of my childhood. I love the combination of 1920's art deco with rubberhose and 1950's UPA/early Hanna Barbera style. I was so devastated when Nickelodeon moved the remaining episodes to Nicktoons as if they didn't care about the series, I watched the remaining episodes but disappointed that they didn't give it a proper ending. Also Jenny is cute and I love her voice :s
Genndy Tartakovsky:
You can probably see how much Rob Renzetti, Genndy, and Craig has inspired me, I've watched a lot of Dexter's Laboratory growing up. Didn't really watch Samurai Jack when I was younger but I started to really appreciate the series now that I'm older. Super happy it'll get a proper continuation/ending, I just wish now Sym-Bionic Titan will get proper continuation as well. The pacing of the action in his shows are so good.
Craig McCracken:
Again, an obvious inspiration to my art style as well. I watched more Foster's than Powerpuff when I was younger but I really admire both of his shows (I've been watching OG PPG lately actually). Sad to hear about Wander over Yonder though ending soon when Craig wanted to tell more stories.
NERO:
The music these guys make is a huge inspiration to me. From the fast paced drum and bass they made in 2007, to the the hard-hitting dubstep in 2010, to the current electronica they make. The dark cyberpunk, 80's, and sci-fi theme that they're going for is something I've been wanting to get into soon. I saw them live at Ultra Music Festival this year and it was one of the best nights of my life, I can finally say I had the opportunity to hear songs like "Doomsday" and "Two Minds" live in person.
Bill Watterson:
I still remember first reading Calvin & Hobbes in middle school, I always admired how messy the line quality can be in the comics yet be stylized and full of life at the same time. The stories are so engaging and the watercolor backgrounds are absolutely beautiful as well.
Tom Oreb:
His art is so simple but so appealing at the same time. His character design is outstanding and fun to look at. Plus, I love how he draws his girls very cute. :] Kinda wished he made a lot more artwork (or at least more of his art would surface on the web)
Edd Gould:
Edd's cartoons is one of the first internet flash cartoons I've been exposed to when I was first started to use Youtube. I didn't really get into his stuff at first but a couple of classmates at my middle school were invested with his toons, so I decided to give them another chance and loved them ever since. If it weren't for his toons, I wouldn't have known about Adobe Flash and using it to make cartoons of my own. Still thinking about Edd to this day.
Brianne Drouhard:
Her art style is absolutely the cutest. I get the feel that her art style is a mix of anime and 80's western cartoons. Brianne's ability to use her markers is incredible and her web comic is so inspiring.
Charles M. Schulz:
Another staple of my childhood, I always loved the innocence and sincerity of his comics and TV specials. I especially loved his early humor and art style of Peanuts (it was very stylized at first!)
Bone (Graphic Novel):
The librarian at my elementary school proudly told us that we finally had Bone graphic novels in the school library. I brushed it off as it was nothing but one of my friends was reading the books and suggested that I should check them out. Decided to finally try the books out and I was completely hooked. I loved how these cartooney bone characters interacted with this Tolkien-esque environment/characters, which was a concept I found really interesting.
Pascal Campion:
I love the colors and the lighting Pascal uses in his art and his style is incredible. I have an admiration towards the French so knowing that he's French makes it even better.
UPA:
After knowing that UPA was an inspiration to the revival of stylized cartoons in the 90's/early 2000's, I can't simply leave out the pioneers of the art style that I love. I guess I can add 50's/60's Hanna-Barbera to the list as well, I still remember my parents renting Flintstones VHS tapes from the library.
Ko Takeuchi:
I loved playing Warioware growing up, the first game I ever tried was Warioware: Touched! I love the unique stylized art style from Warioware and Rhythm Heaven (I haven't played this game but I want to someday!) The way Ko draws his girls are the cutest too.
Upscale Shopping Malls:
There's these two particular upscale shopping malls in my area where I just love the architecture. Both have a very modern look to them and I always observe the architecture whenever I happen to go to either of them. I hate shopping though lol
