Description I sat in the parking lot crying for the better half or fifteen minutes before calming myself enough to drive home. Jimmy's harsh eyes and biting words hung in my head like a terrible nightmare. I tried to pretend I didn't know they talked about me. I pretended everything was great, everyone loves the sun kissed, blonde. But I guess lotions and tanning beds didn't work out here; a bottle of bleach and money for days wasn't good enough anymore.
I parked in the garage and walked silently to my room. I hated myself and no "talk" with my parents would solve that; but then again, they weren't home anyway. I dug under my bed until I could my stash of bottles. The last half of a Jack Daniels bottle stared up at me from my floor panels. I uncapped the bottle and took to my bathroom; I felt safe in there. The makeup I had painstakingly applied ran down my cheeks in dark steams as I tilted the bottle to my lips. The warm, amber liquid tasted like heaven and warmed my toes.
Staring in the mirror I despised the idiot gazing back. She wasn't skinny enough anymore, her bottled tan looked streaky and disgusting, her caked on makeup hardly covered the absolute flaw of a face, her blue eyes looked muddy and disgusting and her friend, peroxide hair seemed to fade into dark roots.
I couldn't look at her anymore. The first thing I found was a pair of scissors in the cabinet, these would work. I had to make her perfect.
"Hey. Katie, open the window." I heard a male voice yelling from outside my bedroom window.
I looked over and saw "muscles" crouching on the tree branch outside of my bay window. Great, just what I needed; someone to continue telling me that everyone hates me just as much as I hate myself. I picked up my bottle of Jack and trudged my way to the window. I opened it carelessly and wandered back to my bed, throwing my body down but not spilling my drink.
"What do you want? I thought I fucked everything up bad enough by calling you all freaks and running away crying." I growled taking yet another swig.
"Nah, we're used to being called freaks. Hell, Jim's the craziest of all of us. You just seemed like you needed a friend and it turns out I'm your neighbor, so I came on over. I like the new hair; you gonna dye it?" he smiled with adorable dimples.
"Yeah, probably; I just don't know what color to do. Wait, why do you care? I called you a freak, insulted your friend, and I don't even know your name. I'm just a bitch that no one likes." I growled continuing my drinking spree.
"Well, my name is Matt, I play basketball with Jimmy for the school and Jim's a big boy, be can handle himself. Now, tell me about you as we go to the mall to get you some hair dye. Oh, and you need to share; no one gets their own bottle of Jack except for birthdays." He smiled happily
"Uh, okay." I frowned as he took the half empty bottle from my hand.
I picked up my keys and phone and, with Matt in tow, walked to my car silently. As I sat in my car, stealing back my drink, the feeling of change assaulted my senses. I wasn't exactly sure if this change was good or bad, but I knew it was going to be big.
