Ghost Rider — Description

it's hard to come up with a more metal concept in comics than Ghost Rider - a flaming skull demon, a spirit of vengeance on a blazing motorcycle -
it's an album cover waitin' to happen hahah First introduced as Johnny Blaze by Roy Thomas, Gary Friedrich, and Mike Ploog, the character has evolved over the years through different hosts -
Blaze, Danny Ketch, Robbie Reyes and others - but the core idea remains the same: a spirit of vengeance bound to a human soul, doling out hellfire and judgment to the wicked. a horror theme through a superhero lense -
There’s a real Hellraiser-adjacent flavour to it all - chains, damnation, infernal deals, hellfire and suffering. Honestly, you could drop Clive Barker onto a Ghost Rider book and it would feel like the most natural thing in the world.
Aesthetically, a biker's wet dream, leather, chrome, fire, skulls - the sort of thing every 13yr old wanted painted on their skateboard.
The Penance Stare is one of the more iconic powers, forcing villains to experience the full weight of the pain they’ve inflicted (even if it gets abused/misused by some writers) but when that doesn't work,
his foes burn all the same - and ride that damnation road straight to hell in a flaming handbasket. whats not to love? A skeleton. On fire. On a motorbike. one of the coolest visuals in comics
