Description
And here we have some more Genesis 3 Male morphs converted using a-sennov 's tutorial. From viewer's left to right: Darius 6, Darius 7, Elijah 7, Lucian 7 and Scott 6. The Gen 6's are from Slosh's products that brought them to G3M. This time I checked the scaling of each one and incorporated it into the control dials I created. Darius got a lot taller and thicker from 6 to 7. Go figure.
Those are the Dash and Darius 8 skins on the two left there. I've put the BSI shaders on everything and used the SY Fast Lights HDR 04 again. In this case I've also decreased translucency to 0.35 and added a slight blue tint to the glossy color on the two darker skins.
Here's the tutorial:
[Tutorial] Morphs from Genesis 3 to 8 accurate wayI've decided to try Genesis 8 for my gamedev project (more about it in subsequent entries) so I had to transfer my characters (original figures, but based on Genesis 3 mesh) to it. After some googling I've found two tutorials on the matter and even one half-baked vaporware script. The approach used in tutorials was more or less the same so I've followed the excelent explanations of SickleYield and got my Olga as Genesis 8 in minutes. But... it wasn't her - this new girl surely had rickets in her childhood, her arms were curved and didn't bend correctly. There were another inaccuracies too. So it became apparent to me that easy way is not an option here
Actually the idea of process is simple - first make G8 look as much as G3 as possible, then use transfer utility (essentially it makes the skin-titght cloth item of the whole G8 mesh
This is effective, and I applaud a-sennov for coming up with it, but it's got enough steps that if you're not a process enthusiast (i.e. someone who does a lot of your own clones and conversions in general) it's probably still worth waiting for Slosh's Legacy packs and buying those.
