Description

Here's my idea for a cover of an all-new animated feature film.

Aladdin (also known as Aladdin: King of the genies): Based on the one thousand and one Nights. The story chronicles the life of a poor boy who finds two magical treasures, a lamp and a ring which contain two wish granting genies. With their help, he becomes rich and powerful, marries a lovely Princess, and defeats wicked villains. From Warner bros., Lionsgate, and the creators of the Avatar series.

Coming in April.

Streaming on Max.

Not to be confused with the Disney movie:

In Disney’s version, Aladdin’s mother died when he was young. And before that, his father became king of thieves after leaving.

  • In Warner Bros', Aladdin’s father died when he was young, leaving him only with his mother.

In the original tale, citizens were forbidden to look at the princess as she goes to the bath house.

  • Disney's princess Jasmine disguised herself to avoid marriage as well as palace life.

  • Warner Bros. princess Luna goes freely to the market.

In Disney version, the guards patrol the city.

  • Warner Bros. version of the guards only acted as bodyguards for the sultan and/or princess.

Disney’s Aladdin only finds the lamp in the cave.

  • Warner Bros' Aladdin finds both the lamp and the ring.

Disney’s genie had a jokey personality and a desire for freedom from wish granting.

  • Warner Bros' genies have separate personalities. Fawzi is more sarcastic and low-tolerant. Sakura is smart, confident, and encouraging.

Disney's genie doesn't have a real name, simply referred to as "Genie", and sometimes "Gene".

  • The genies are given names, Fawzi (not to be confused with Muppet Fozzie Bear) and Sakura.

In Disney’s version, every genie only grants three wishes.

  • In Warner Bros' version, only Fawzi grants three wishes while Sakura grants unlimited wishes.

Disney’s magic carpet appears in the cave and meets Aladdin and Abu.

  • Warner Bros' carpet magically appears by the lamp genie.

In Disney’s version, Aladdin and Jasmine were engaged at the end of the first movie all the way to the near end of the third.

  • The Warner Bros', Aladdin and Luna were set to marry in a week rather than right away like the original tale.

In Disney‘a version, the city is full of thieves and poor people. These elements are not used in Warner Bros.

In the original story, the vizier’s son was arrogant, spoiled and unkind.

  • In this movie, he is humble, but not very smart and only thinks about food.

Raja from Disney and Raja from Warner Bros. are one and the same.

The sorcerer from Africa pretended to be Aladdin's "uncle" to trick him into finding the lamp.

  • Here, he did not pretend to be Aladdin's uncle, but offered him a job as his apprentice if he could get the lamp, but later tried to kill him once he had it.

  • He also doesn't have a brother like in the original story.

  • He has a crow for a pet, not a parrot.

The sultan from the original tale demanded Aladdin to bring treasure in order to marry the princess.

  • Disney's sultan allowed Aladdin and Jasmine to marry after realizing how they love each other.

  • Warner Bros. have the sultan as humble and somewhat naive, and let Luna marry Aladdin after turning back from a pig by the vizier.

The sorcerer was drugged by Aladdin in the old story, while in other adaptations he was left stranded in Africa.

  • Jafar was turned into a genie, trapped in his own lamp and by the near end of the sequel destroyed.

  • Warner Bros. Aladdin didn't poison the sorcerer or turned him into a genie but destroyed him in his scorpion form.
