The light

And to that
I say
What light

There is no light left
In this...world
Where we look upon
Violence as the only way

There is no love
When innocence is raped
From the young

There is no peace
Where we celebrate
War

And why
Because that is
The only thing
We know

And our own ignorance
Will be our own
Undoing

The bodies lie dead
On the streets
And we care not

We pass them over
And gawk
Yet we don’t help

I guess
This is
The light
You speak of
