Friendsplosion II — Description
December 2012.

While visiting LA for the first time, I wanted to get to visit friends from college who had moved out to LA (the obvious destination for film students), and so I arranged a little get-together with my three friends from NY who moved out a few months prior (Jimmy, Matt and Zach), as well as a two others I had gone to college with who had made their way out west - Christian Nilsson and Peter Cromwell.

Peter I had known earlier in film school, when I was a freshmen - our interactions being primarily through a "horror club" that a friend I was in a shock-rock theatrical thrash metal joke band with created. Peter went on to do some projects for his classes that involved puppetry, which was kind of his niche, as I remember it. He eventually moved out to LA and went to a school for either practical effect or digital effects, and has since had many credits on big films for his involvement in post-production.

Christian I had interacted with more while in college - he was an actor in a few films that I had either worked on or edited, or both. For quite a number of years now (seven, I believe) he has been dating an actress that also went to our college, that was the lead female role in my senior thesis film from college, "Tomorrow Will Never Come". Christian is a really talented and motivated dude, and it was fun to get to get dinner and catch up with him and everyone else, learning what everyone's been doing since I last spoke to them. I generally keep to myself and my close inner circle most of the time, but I enjoy getting to catch up with people over a long period of time and get to hear about their life story from the long-term view.
