Hardly a decision... — Description

Happy New Years Eve everyone! I've been working on this piece for the past few days, and am delighted with how it has come out, particularly the clouds in the background! I can't believe how many years I have been a part of HARPG for now, but thank you all who have been with me since the beginning and to those who have only started watching recently, big love to everyone! Excuse the more descriptive story, 2 brand new characters so taking a bit of time to flesh them out.

"Next in the ring, Laurent Caruso riding THE General!"
With a simple shift in the saddle and a ghostly light cue, Laurent encouraged General into a bouncy, flashy collected trot as they exited the warm up ring and set out to the arena.
Laurent had been a centrepiece of the equestrian competitive circuit for quite some time, astride his powerful Tharoksu, General. A horse that Laurent had helped to train from when he was a foal at his facility in France. Of course, Laurent had trained many horses, alongside his aunt and a couple of other world class trainers at the facility, and courtesy of his aunt's influence, from a young age he had always had first pick of the youngsters, and General had always been a cut above the rest.
That was not to say the horse was easy by any capacity. Yes, now, under saddle he looked phenomenal, purposeful, responding to the lightest of cues with the grandest of movements. In the right hands, the stallion was incredible. However, in hand, his temperament could be less than kindly. The grooms at the facility knew him to bite, rear, barge - but under a capable often rich hand - the grooms swore that he knew the number in someone's bank account - General was beyond polite, perfect.
For many years, Laurent rode his small string of horses across various national and international competitions, focusing on 3DE but scoping out into other disciplines occasionally, and with the number of wins he was picking up, first as a junior amateur rider and then later on in the professional circuit as a rider and trainer. It was therefore no great surprise when he caught the eye of Money Meyers, who had been seeking talent to join her newly formed team at Top Hat Equestrian. With her came promises of a fantastic facility, a line of clothing and a fantastic pay check.
And who could turn that down...?
