'Draw a character that protects the supernatural'
Maisy Powell is a shadowrunner that
had
a bad
experience
on a run a few years back.
She was a magician working magic security for a Draco Foundation archaeology dig, supposedly a milk run. It ended with an earth spirit from a opposing team trying a snatch job and attempting a full engulf but failing.
The shaman decided that a leg was enough and had the spirit snip it off at the hip before he was shot and the spirit dispelled.
Luckily, she had a good medic on the team who was able to stabilize her and get her evac'd.
It took her a couple of days to come around at the hospital, and even longer to recover. It gave her time to come to terms with her situation and come up with a plan going forward.
She opted not to get a cyberleg, just to keep herself natural. That would help her commune with the supernatural.
Maisy was going to become a Spirit's Rights Activist.
In her past, she had dealt with many spirits, mainly fighting but occasionally summoning. She realized how, almost entirely, they were summoned against their will.
Higher level spirits definitely had sentience, and she couldn't stand on the sidelines any more.
@CanRay suggested that I switch her to a magician versus a phys-ad, and it makes more sense.
