Description
This is the first time I ever attempted a filet crochet design. I got the pattern from a crochet magazine I picked up just FOR the design. When 's birthday came up, I knew she liked red (or at least guessed with all the red in her pictures
) and the dragons were "Chinese" so had an oriental flavor to it. Therefore, I decided to roll up my sleeves and try it! This is part of what she wrote to me upon receiving it : "It's soooo beautiful
It's a gorgeous red and the design is breathtaking." I am just so so happy she liked it so much!!

It came out very nice! I like the beaded fringe. ^_^ I've wanted to try this pattern, too, but filet still intimidates me a bit. But I always wondered about the title of the shawl in the magazine, since the dragons strike me as more European than Asian.

The beads were added to make it a bit more 'blingy'. And I know what you mean! I saw the pattern and was like, "Wow, that's really gorgeous" bought the magazine and then hid from it.

(I spend far too much time on the Interweave website...it's bad for my wallet. ^_^) As for the dragons in the shawl, I was more referring to their wings...I was under the impression that Asian dragons were wingless and more serpentine. Those particular dragons look like a more European design to me. But hey, maybe China has some winged dragons, too.

The magazine is "Interweave Crochet" Fall 2012, it was only displayed until Christmas, but there are always copies being sold on e-bay or etsy. The pattern title is "Chinese Dragon Shawl" ^^ Thank you for the kudos!
