I'm who they call when a demon needs dealt with. Most here on Earth doubt they exist. And that's a good thing. Demons feed off their hosts: the more people who believe in them, the more powerful and corporal they become. And where there is one, there is usually more. Abyss is Myxini's companion. Myxini is among the most powerful of Earth's demons and so attracts her "suitors". Abyss is the only one to past her tests.
He is her eyes. He is sly and shrimpy, in appearance and demeanor. Reports of his attacks are exceedingly rare and in my scant encounters with him, he seems polite even. Wary and observant. He warns me of Myxini and I always heed him. Its for the best perhaps. But I wonder if there's some element of manipulation. The more I stave off our encounter, the more my fear and anticipation grows. The more Myxini would feast from me if I should fail. I shouldn't give him so much credit.
