TWD Assignment 1 Jakob — Description

Jakob loved this part. The excited chatter and positive moods of nearly everyone in the pub was electrifying. Most did well to hide any apprehension that had for the upcoming event. It was a great time to get to know the fellow competitors, and that task was on everyone mind’s making it easy to introduce yourself and strike up a conversation.

Talking with horse people came easy to Jakob, he knew about most topics that were mentioned, caring for many horses meant any complaint or quirk someone had to talk about was familiar to him. He could easily offer advice or at least relate to the other. A large gathering like this also meant the conversations never got too deep or thoughtful, which meant he had nothing to be anxious about. Idle chatter was his favourite, he got to learn about a whole bunch of people, and reacquaint himself with people he’d met before. There were very few people he recognised form the previous year TWD ran, but he knew a bunch of people from recent events he’d attended as a competitor or groom.

He was looking forward to getting to know more of them on the trail. He wasnt going to be riding with Amery, the other rider from his stable, so was thinking about getting to know some others to ride with.

He stayed by the bar for the most part of the night, talking with the people who came to get new drinks. He bought a few people drinks when he felt like it, including Alexa, who he continued to thank for letting him borrow her Zlesdin Vindicta for the first phase.

His plans to continue acquainting himself with fellow entrants was disrupted, in the best way, when he was approached by Ash. Things just kept getting better from there onwards.
