So, I'll start off with the raw render aspects of it - and how you could've improved it.
ExcellentShadow2 only gets rid of the choppiness of the shadow if you have a shader on the model. For an example, if you use ExcellentShadow2 normally, the shadow's will still be rugged and pixelated. If you use it alongside a shader like GreenerShader, it will make the shadows look smooth.
There's a shader for the models you can use to get rid of the choppiness called SimpleSoftShadow (at least it gets rid of the majority of the choppiness lmfao).

Ayano's hand with the knife looks a bit... weird? And contorted? It also looks like the knife is going through her hand, rather than being placed in it.

I feel like you could've made Yuri look a bit more uncomfortable. Maybe made her head a bit further away from Ayano's, or put in one of those anime sweat drops or something (although, that's not really in your style so hesnsng).

The way their holding one another's hand looks a bit weird. Mainly because I've never seen anyone hold a hand like that. I think if you made it look like Ayano was grabbing her hand, it might've added a bit more detail. For an example, Ayano could be grabbing Yuri by her wrist. Or, it could've been them with their hands interlocked.

On to the Photoshopped Elements.

The blur tool on Photoshop is fucking shit, so I'm not gonna go to hard on you. But the shadows still look choppy (in some places), even though you blurred it out. Ayano's model actually has pretty smooth shadows, while Yuri's is just as, if not more, sharper than the knives.

I would recommend either finding another program that does blurring better, or maybe airbrushing the shadows to be smooth.

The little hair flicks look a bit weird in places. I think they look REALLY good on Yuri, but Ayano's just looks... out of place. Here's how I think you could've fixed that: sta.sh/21zjikmwhg1o?edit=1
