Nothing is going to end well here.

I get this scary feeling that the 'gods' needle and play with each other because they know average 'mortals' cannot do anything to them, and that brings up classic Greek lore and mythology. The gods exist on one level, and use mortals to needle, screw with each other, play games with, or use as weapons against other gods. They really don't care about their subjects, as they are toys to them.

We tend to think of these sort of Greek god figures as D&D party members these days with a wink and a nod and this strange alliance to not permanently hurt each other or disrupt the carefully crafted pantheon which needs to be around for the next issue. Or we could kill them off, but the next writer will reboot the franchise and retcon all that away. Here, no, I don't think so. These bad guys would kill each other if they had a chance, and also it would get them ahead. Right now, the only thing keeping them from doing that is the threat of Unit 1721/governments or other bad guys out there doing the same, so they are working together.

Temporarily. The minute there is no outside threat I feel the knives are coming out.

And they constantly snipe at each other and get at each other through mortals.

Alva's narrative is right. This is a mess.
