Description
Yeah, I pretty much knew this would happen. Also, I remember when comic books were cool and would do shots like this. Artists sit here and realize the beauty of the human form, both male and female, either dressed or undressed. Political people get in comics and start pushing their pamphlets and selling fear and division. Artists are like, hey that's pretty and makes me feel good, f--- off.
Peace is not just the absence of war. It is the removal of all worry, doubt, hate, and fear inside one's mind.
Mentally, we live in different worlds.

In a way...this is good. Vex will keep Jess distracted while I deal with James.
And no...as for comics I have given up caring. Maybe I will do books or graphic novels and end up there. It does boil down to what you hold important at your core I feel. For some, they go through life angry, hurt, and addicted to fear. They seek news and entertainment which constantly feeds and affirms that addiction.
I am like...why waste your life on that? It is BS. Do what you love and find peace.
It sucks because what got me through some tough days as a poor kid were those comics. I got an appreciation for art, story, anatomy, character, science, the world, and so much more from them. Those comics live on through me I guess.

What I hate about James and his ilk is that he lords his power over his minions. But he's never been hungry, he's never been cold. He's almost seems like a sociopath. I shudder to think what he'd be capable of if he was dropped into a city with nothing. Without his "power" he's simply an arrogant prick with a superiority complex.

He has no powers.
But he has the ultimate power, and it is not money. He could have zero money in the middle of nowhere and still be just as dangerous.
He is connected. There are those we don't see who are looking out for him, and who will do anything to make sure he stays happy and right where he is. Even to the point of putting the most powerful psychic super-villain in the world at his side, and no one in the media or government questions that arrangement. People only act this way because they know others will unquestioningly take care of them.

You're right about his power, and the small army that serves his interests want what he has, right? So that makes him a target of less scrupulous people. That's scary too.

He owns every entertainment property, movie, TV show, news organization, newspaper, book publisher, and comic book studio in the world.
Of course there are people who want him right where he is.
His opiates and smokescreens keep the ants of the general public calm and manageable.
That is priceless to those people. That...that is scary.

What is scarier to them are the artists who won't bow down.

We are the headaches responsible for cord cutting and comic shops closing.
The days of not having to compete are over, big guys. All the big companies can do these days is de-platform and get their social-media followers to attack indie creatives. Which is in itself a paradox because if it were me out there protecting big money's bottom line, I would expect a check every month.
Likes and favs don't pay the rent.

I must admit, I miss the comic shop where I grew up. A bunch of us would go in on Saturday morning and blow our allowances on them. I wish I had kept them.
But times change and so does our media. Big media squashes imagination that doesn't fit in their P.C. box. So the indies sneak in true art.
That gives me hope.
