Description
Granted, Vex was last on Earth in the 70's when that saying was still fresh. He has no idea what he is getting into.Space Patrol vs. Planet X today! A special treat today for longtime fans. And Derica knows who this is...
And Galaxie thinks she is from the 'negative dimension' because Derica is black and white lol

About the same time they realize the flashy fins on spaceships do nothing in a vacuum. Welcome to the 50's and 60's.
Still, love that glass material, damn does that look good.

Thanks, considering these figures are not today's newest models, I still get a lot of great use out of them no matter where they are used. They are fun and I am a notorious recycler and reskinner, and love that hobby side where you rework and reuse things with some creativity.

Very true, I hunt clearance items like a hawk and they stretch my dollar. A lot of my background items you see in defocus are straight Poser trees, props, terrains, and buildings. If they work as-is, fine, import and start telling the story. If they are used for close-up work, or the materials would be an issue (like lakes and water), then you need to do some work but just enough to get by.
I do collect new stuff, but more to prep for future series and do the glamour art with Vex. iRay materials to reskin old stuff are good buys too. And I have not retired my Gen 4 cast, nor plan to, as this series was a test to see if they could hold their own and they work fine. If you know Vex's work with the Stranded cast you will know they work very fine and can hold their own against the newest models in many ways.
The more I can reuse, the more I have. And I enjoy the DIY 3d part of the hobby a lot. I also am doing a lot more overpainting these days with a program that simulates natural media, and you are seeing some effects that cannot be reproduced in 3d alone. That also stretches my dollar since if a model looks terrible close up, I will just paint over it. It served its purpose, and I have a background in real art with real paints and canvases.
One problem with the new DAZ stuff is the import into Vue are difficult (or require a lot of work in Vue on materials), and it is easier right now to keep those in Poser format since the render pipelines are still unified between Vue and Poser. Survivor is unique since you are seeing renders from three different applications featured there.

You have my undying admiration. I have a PC I need to fix, but don't have the time too. I could probably do some art on it, but everyone says it's time consuming and addicting. I barely have time to write as it is. But sometimes I wish I could render an image to work with a story.

Thank you.
It is very time consuming. I spend time writing, working on workflows and technology, cast building, reuse, practice, and trying things out. Without play you never learn. It is expensive to get started and have the needed hardware to produce multiple panels quickly. In addition to my main three 3d programs, I have dozens of other programs to support my workflow that I need to know and get better at - more learning and practice.
I have been doing this for a long time myself.Β It is addicting and sort of a life-hobby for me, like some do sculpting or model painting. I helped create all of this technology and figures back in the day, but never really had a chance to play. Today, I play and tell stories, which is where I started and what I always wanted to do. I have to focus on what I love. I have to cut out the things I sorta like and that is so hard. I love video games, but I never really play them. This is what I do for fun, since sharing gives me a bigger thrill than playing something alone.
I wish I could live off of all of this. I don't know if that is even possible, but I will try. You never know.
