Stranded Revo 0003 — Description
The fear industry. The media. The press. Online websites. Mix that with political activists on both sides, state-capitalist factory complexes, plus a healthy dose of overseas NGOs and quasi-governmental concerns with conflicting agendas that publish via social media and you get...Fear Incorporated. They latch onto anything like a leech and drain it for as many clicks and attention as the tentacles of the beast can suck out of your limited attention span.

Terrorism.
Outrage.
War.
Disease.
Environment.
Crisis.

Every week it is something new. Stir that in a pot, have a sock puppet account tweet something outrageous, and report that tweet as the news. Blow on that sucker like a hot coal. Get it burning hot, trending, and stoke it for as much cash as we can. This is all about online ad money. Google and Facebook are destroying the world by funding Fear Inc. and making us all hate each other. Companies who pay for online ads are a part of the problem.

All they want are clicks and views. Hashtags are money to them - and you won't see any by retweeting them. They don't care how they get your eyes and ears. The more sensational the better. The more they can stir things up the better. Cable news falls into line and provides content for them.

Nobody steps back and asks "why?"
