In your defense, I thought you were going to attempt to use the trackpad. It *could* work, I guess, but boy would it be painful. Heck, even the mouse is getting old. Been thinking of getting a WACOM for a while, but the price? Ouch.

Also, if you go with one of the screen Wacoms, get a Tourbox Neo with it, best secondary controller add-on ever invented. You can put all your common keyboard commands right on there and have dials, wheels, sliders, and buttons to assist with your pen work. Nothing beats pushing a button on the Tourbox and dragging the pen size larger and smaller on the screen with the pen.

Yeah, go with the smallest and see how it works for you before investing. But still, when I went big I discovered I could work much faster and easier. The ones with the screens are really worth it, but don't go 4K unless you are doing it for a living.
One of my favorite tools is the SpaceMouse PRO from 3dConnexion. I am so used to having it when I sit at a computer without one I find my hand there searching for it. With Blender it does not work as well since I need to limit the axis of motion to keep the thing from skewing my camera in circles, but I will get it working. In DAZ it is an incredible productivity boost being able to fly around your scene as if in VR.
