Description
Tutorials with nudity. NOW I am paying attention. And Basic Cube LOL.
And yes, back in the day a lot of us Poser and DAZ artists were seen as "not real 3d artists" - I have no idea if that is still true today, but back in the day when we all started this is kind of the stigma we wore. I hope, through my art, I helped change this a little, but it is time to push myself more and learn. Apologies if that view is outdated, as I said, but this is something I lived with as a sort of inferiority feeling in the back of my mind.

blender is beyond my understanding...
zBrush looks more comfortable because i got some result. Primitive and simple but my very first result in DAZ looks almost the same

I started out being impressed, naively I guess, with some of the stuff I was seeing on DA. And then I noticed some of the same props appearing in render after render. And it dawned on me that the ones making these gorgeous renders were not the real skilled ones creating those props. I honestly knew nothing of this whole Daz/Poser market thing.
And I see some artists trying to do body mods (like some of the things I do) by just overlapping multiple human meshes, or distorting them in crude ways. To make them look good, you have to do proper mesh editing.

Yes, true. I can do some good 3d mesh painting/texturing Β with Blacksmith 3d, just the mesh editing parts I have never learned. You need those skills to make it look great. Body part replacement or addition via the mesh-addons that snap on there (like horns and tails) is really cool technology, and you can make the skin pull up along the new part nicely.

Yeah, I've avoided diving into the whole create-your-own-content thing for the most part. I dipped my toes in that water and immediately recognized how deep it went. I just wanna make pictures and tell stories; creating my own content would easily consume all my extra time. But I rely on those who create content, so a tip o' the digital hat to those who do.

Yeah LOL, I know how deep this can go. I worked in the same room as DAZ's modeling team for years and these tools can become your life.
If I can create simple rooms, sets, crates, and dungeons that would make me happy. My own rigged monsters would be wonderful. I have some set goals in my mind for a couple levels of skill, and I would like to make a try at it and make some hilarious tutorials of "DAZ guy in Blenderland."
Also there is a benefit to being able to use the tools to modify the meshes I have (like knock a hole in a wall), or import file formats that are not easily pulled into DAZ. There are some movie-quality assets I got my hands on recently and they need this import-export pipeline.
We will see how far I get.

Thank you!
Those and my books are where I plan on starting. If I do a tutorial I will link, cite the book, and give credit. Everyone should be able to have fun and follow along.

Look on YouTube for a guy named Grant Abbitt. He has very good step-by-step lessons on mesh editing.

LOL, thanks, I wanted to make a series that reflected how I felt when I started learning. Something funny too, to help others break that feeling of frustration and helplessness. This isn't that hard, but to many, it feels impossible. And it did to me too.
I love the cube being a character that is positive, helpful, and funny LOL; it makes me see the app in a new way.
