Atomicspace 0017 — Description

I have a laser, but I use it responsibly. A dion might not know I mean him no harm! He might play rough, but I got to show him I can play rough too, but I don't want to hurt him. As a Space Explorer, it is my job to not shoot all new lifeforms I may encounter with a laser, you know!

My job is fun! I make star maps! I watch how the planets of a system no one has been to spin around their sun. I visit all the worlds and see what is there! I make a map of the world. I take samples of the soil, air, and water to see if the planet is safe to visit! Sometimes I encounter hostile creatures, but sometimes they are just scared and I need to be careful not to land on a planet and turn first contact into contact everyone will regret later.

Oh, Dion. Maybe you were scared, or hungry, or surprised. But I understand! The citizens of Planet X are good people! We are devoted to scientific knowledge and we are a highly advanced society! Our society has moved beyond the need for war and conquest of planets for resources. But if this planet is in danger and dions like you are threatened, it is our job to find a way to save you!
