Description

Krang of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Renaissance Project

Krang is a member of the Utrom race, peaceful and highly evolved amoeboid-like aliens from Dimension X. Unfortunately, Krang himself was distinguished from his fellows by his cruelty and megalomania. Having failed to gain recognition among his relatives and becoming a dangerous criminal in their eyes, Krang escapes from Dimension X using the portal he created. Once in another world, Krang traveled across the Milky Way galaxy, capturing and destroying various worlds for his own pleasure. Eventually, his ship was shot down and crashed on planet Earth.

Once in Feudal Japan, Krang's first thought was to repair his ship, but he needed numerous resources. Observing humans, he creates a prototype exoskeleton, vaguely resembling a human shape, in order to use it to plunder human settlements, and soon he became known throughout Japan as Tatsu-Oni, the "iron demon". However, at some point, Krang encountered Hamato Yoshi and Oroku Saki, who were able to defeat him and severely damage his exoskeleton, forcing the alien to escape. After his defeat, Krang decided to act in a more cunning way, and instead of intimidating and enslaving people, he decides to pretend to be one of them. Having created a new, more human exosuit for himself, he decides to enlist the help of his former enemy, Oroku Saki. Disguised as a humble blacksmith, he gives him the Sword of Tengu, a supposedly magical weapon forged by goblins, thus gaining the trust of the Foot Clan.

Over time, Krang changed his original decision, and instead of repairing his ship and leaving this planet, he decided to conquer and terraform the Earth, turning it into his capital. Hundreds of years later, he founded the Techno-Cosmic Research Institute, using this enterprise to recruit human geniuses to build their doomsday weapon, the Technodrome. One day, while transporting parts of his old ship to the TCRI laboratory, Krang learns that the ship's biofuels based on kraathatrogons' ooze have a unique effect on terrestrial organisms. Seeing the potential in it for creating his own army of mutants, he launches a secret project known as the Renaissance Project.
