Batcopter Multi-View — Description

"Holy upgraded Batcopter, Batman!" Even though I'm a big fan of the classic 1966 Batman TV series (and the Batman movie), I'll confess I've never been a huge fan of the Batcopter that appeared in that series. It's OK I guess, but to me the old Bell 47G3B-1 model helicopter always had too much of an "old fashioned" vibe to it. I always wanted Batman to have a more modern looking Batcopter. So here it is, a Batcopter based on the Bell Jet Ranger. The Bell Jet Ranger was first introduced in 1967, so it just missed having a chance to audition for the role of the Batcopter. I like to think that Batman eventually upgraded to the Jet Ranger. This is one of my all-time favorite helicopter designs. To me, even all these years later, it still looks great. I went with a paint job that echoes the paint scheme of the Barris Batmobile, black with red stripes, with a bit of chrome around the edges of the canopy. The Bat-logo on the sides is the same too. Physical modifications to the chopper itself are limited to adding a "scalloped Bat-wing" detail to the trailing edges of the main fuselage as well as the stabilizer fins. "Jet Turbines to speed! Roger, Ready to move out!"
