Description

To continue with my Kamen Rider Caster Project, here is the intended secondary Rider; Kamen Rider Mancer.

Kamen Rider Mancer
User: Nidifu

Bio: Not long after Egete achieved the Nature Array, Mitsuhi discovered a talented and tech-savvy street magician; whom Egete later identified as Nidifu, a Magus who was Egete’s childhood friend and rival before he just vanished for some reason. Despite Izujebuko’s objections, they meet up with Nidifu and the two friends catch up. Before Egete could ask why Nidifu disappeared, the group is made aware of a Sorcerist on the loose and left to confront it. After Egete transforms into Caster, he has trouble fighting the Sorcerist as it incorporates modern technology in its abilities, being pushed back until Nidifu arrives. Unaware of Caster’s identity, Nidifu declares that he will surpass him; pulling out an unknown Driver and transforming into a second Kamen Rider named Mancer. After driving off the Sorcerist, Mancer then tries to fight Caster, only stopping when he de-transforms and reveals himself as Egete. After Egete explains how he came to be the current Caster, Nidifu reveals the pattern of chain tattoos on his body; the mark of a Magus who has had their Magical Ability sealed and banished from Arcania. Nidifu elaborates that during their last outing to the Human World, he became fascinated with the advancements in human technology; inspiring him to try to combine it with the Arcanian Rune system to create a new form of magic. Fearing that this research could lead to a second Utofasu, the Arcanian Council sealed Nidifu’s magic and banished him. Only by using a new system that combines his knowledge of Arcanian magic and modern technology as Kamen Rider Mancer can Nidifu use magic again, hoping one day that his system could free him of the sealing spell. While Izujebuko tries to dissuade Egete from associating with an “Arcanian criminal,” the reunion with his childhood rival reignites Egete’s once lost motivation; putting more effort into his training than before.

Transformation: Nidifu removes the Transformation Rune Amulet from his necklace and sets it in the MagiTech Driver before placing it on his midsection; causing a strap to extend from one side, wrap around, and lock into the other (“MagiTech Driver~!”). Pressing down on the slide, the Amulet spins as luminescent circuitry lines extend from the Driver all over Nidifu’s body; the suit & armor “growing” from those lines.

Forms:
-Future Array: “Future Magic! Technology no Mahoutsukai, Debut!” Mancer’s default form, it boasts the same physical enhancing stats as Caster’s Transfigure Array, but holds no special qualities on its own.
-Shuffle Crest: “Shuffle Magic!” Combining his knowledge of Arcanian Transfiguration with slight-of-hand techniques allows Mancer to manipulate his surroundings with his right hand and only within his line of sight; exchanging places with a target, teleporting between enclosed spaces, pulling objects seemingly out of thin air, etc.
-Mental Crest: “Mental Magic!” Using Arcanian Illusion magic with mentalism techniques, Mancer can alter his opponent’s perceptions, read their moves, and implant suggestions into them, so long as he keeps the eye mark on his left shoulder aimed at them. However, that is the limit to this form’s abilities; Mancer cannot use this ability against a non-suggestable mind, nor can he force someone to act against their own will (thus not breaking one of the Taboos).
-Tamer Crest: “Tamer Magic!” When paired with his Machine in its Animal Mode, Mancer uses Arcanian Nature Magic & beast taming techniques to perform perfectly coordinated moves; made more effective by Mancer being able to conjure simple shapes out of the elements (i.e. a flaming hoop, air whip, etc.). Mancer can also use this ability on anything with a beast-like mentality, though the more feral the mind is, the less effective the ability is.

Finishers: “Finale! Blank Magic!” Pressing down on the slide twice initiates a Finale finishing attack; its effects being dependent on the kind of magic Mancer is currently using.

Equipment:
-MagiTech Driver: Developed by Nidifu during his time in the human world, this belt-like device uses modern technology and data on Arcanian magic to allow him to fight as Kamen Rider Mancer.
-Rune Amulets: What Nidifu claims to be the next step in Arcanian magic, the Rune Amulets have Arcanian Runes on one side, and a circuitry pattern on the other (spinning in the Driver intertwines the two). They contain information on each of the three main branches of Arcanian magic and any Spell Crests best associated with them (more than what a single Rune Capsule can store), and filters that data through stage/street performance techniques.
-Amulet Gunner: Mancer’s Primary weapon, it fires shots of pure magical energy, which can be altered if a Rune Amulet or Capsule is installed. Pulling the slide back twice allows Mancer to unleash a shotgun-style blast, while pulling it back three times initiates a finisher (“Climax! Magic Charge!”).
-Juumachine Toraiger (Beast Machine Tri-Liger): Originally a normal motor trike, Nidifu modified it with a simple AI and transformation capabilities; allowing it to transform into and act like a large jungle cat. Its AI is capable of auto-piloting and tracking the MagiTech Driver, and its Animal Mode makes it a powerful ally to Mancer.

Design: I wanted Mancer’s default appearance to be simple overall, similar to Caster’s Transfigure Array, before adding some of the technological aspects; namely the Faiz-inspired lines of what are intended to be circuitry. Keeping with the technological sub-theme of Mancer, I went with a CMY coloring pattern (cyan for the armor (with a near-black shade for the suit), magenta eyes, and the yellow lines). Mancer’s horns/antennae are meant to invoke a magician’s top-hat, inspired by Kamen Rider Lupin/the Lupinrangers’ visors, with Mancer’s personal Crest (what’s meant to be a circuitry pattern within a magic circle) at the top. An early concept I had for Caster was to include Runes around his forms’ collars like on the wrist/ankle cuffs; I applied that concept to the circle on Mancer’s chest, as being a showman, he would want everyone to know his name. With Mancer’s Crest Changes, I inverted colors used for Caster’s Arrays (eye color is applied to the armor, armor color is applied to the glow lines). Originally I intended to have 4 playing cards on the shoulder of the Shuffle Crest, but I couldn’t make it work; so instead I took inspiration from Zi-O’s Blade Armor and put a selection of cards (as in “pick a card, any card”) on the shoulder. I was initially stuck on the shoulder armor for the Mental Crest, until I finally figured it out; a purple eye/eyeball clutched in a hand integrated into the armor. The shoulders of the Tamer Crest I made to emulate the epaulettes of a circus ringmaster/animal tamer; I considered adding animal paws/claws to the shoulders, but between the Machine being the intended animal partner and how long I’ve put this project off, decided that the current design was enough.
