Another mystery in the forest.Rumor has it that these are the remains of an ancient castle. The massive moss covered stone blocks are strewn over a huge area, looking like there must have been many enormous buildings. The whole site sits upon high hills or mounds that are obviously even more ancient. On the tops of these hills are standing stones and stone circles dating from Celtic times. With so much moss everywhere it looks more like a moss garden!

Part of the Nature Reserve of the Naturpark Saar-Hunsrück ...on the Felsenweg near Scheiden.
