Curves — Description
I used to photograph these plants a lot before I got into photographing people, they're called Tree Philodendrons. So, when Kelsey, a fellow plant lover, excitedly mentioned shooting in them, I definitely wasn't going to say no. This was the first set we shot of the day (yeah, I'm going out of order), and I loved the way the philodendron leaves curved around their bodies in this really natural and beautiful way. It reminded me of this cartoon I'd watch as a kid with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. They'd use plants and Eve's glorious hair as natural censors throughout the show and it was really beautifully done for a kids' movie from what I remember of it. In any case, a lot of the movies I watched as a kid were really heavy on Nature and plant life and really influenced my work later on, unsurprisingly. I really loved their body language in this first set, it reminds me of two friends comforting each other.
