Description: The Alligator Snapping Turtle is a large species of freshwater turtle that can be found in wetland areas of the United States, most of them can be found in the Southeastern United States, like Florida and east Texas, others can be found in western Tennessee, Missouri, north to southeastern Kansas, western Illinois, southern Indiana, southeastern Iowa, and western Kentucky, some have even been found up the Missouri River as far north as the Gavins Point Dam. These large reptiles have been known to reach great sizes, while some reported sizes are debatable, the largest recorded Alligator Snapping Turtle was kept at Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, Illinois, and it had a weight of up to 249 pounds, this individual died after it was sent to the Tennessee Aquarium as part of a breeding loan. Alligator Snapping Turtles have an appearance that almost makes them look like a dragon or a dinosaur, the armored carapace has 3 rows of spikes and raised plates, almost similar to ankylosaurs, this armor makes them easily recognizable when telling them apart from the Common Snapping Turtles that live in the same habitat. The Alligator Snapping Turtle's beak is perfectly evolved for catching and killing prey, although it has no teeth, its scissor-like jaws can easily deliver a nasty bite, it uses a pink, worm-like lure inside its mouth that attracts fish in to feed, and when the fish get inside the mouth, the turtle snaps it jaws shut with a bite force of 1,004 pounds per square inch, this can cut through flesh, break bone, and easily kill its prey, Alligator Snapping Turtles have even been known to hunt for small and mid-sized animals, like muskrats, nutrias, squirrels, opossums, armadillos, raccoons, and sometimes, the young of American Alligators.

Personal Thoughts: I have seen Alligator Snapping Turtles before, and I recall watching a video where a guy demonstrated the bite force of an Alligator Snapping Turtle by sticking his arm into its jaws, whatever you do, don't do that at home, its not a pretty sight. Also, I live not too far away from a freshwater lake with a wetlands area, and I'm still not sure, but I think I saw an Alligator Snapping Turtle walk on land, it was hard to tell because I saw it while in a car and we were going too fast to get a good look. I will have to just keep an eye out in case I see something like it again. Anyways, I like how well detailed this one is, it is a good addition to an american or wetland themed zoo, plus it has no bugs or glitches and the modeling and textures are accurate compared to the real animal.
