Description
I've been meaning to do one of these for a while.(Left to Right)
Reina Telgemeier-I absolutely adore her books. She has such a sly and clever wit, and charming drawing style. She uses her past experiences and displays them beautifully. There is so much emotion encompassed in her work.
Avatar-This was the show that got me back into anime again. I love how there is no panty shots, no showing of clevage or over use of violence and gore. (Like many other animes I know...). Its story and writing is phenomenal and the character developement is masterful. Plus it is side-splittingly funny. Why am I babbling on about this? Go watch it now!
Cucumber Quest-Charming and witty, this comic can be enjoyed by both children and adults. Gigigidigi infuses every page with wit and whismy and her artwork is simply stunning. Definetly one of the best webcomics out there.
Harry Potter-My first fandom worth fangirling about. J.K. Rowling is a god, Harry Potter's movies are terrific, Luna Lovegood is my favorite character, blah blah blah. I want a pet pygmy puff.
Percy Jackson-I love this series! The author's style of writing is action-packed and hilarious, with you at the edge of your seat. Plus its a book that all generations can enjoy. C:
Calvin and Hobbes-This is (in my opinion) the best comic strip out there. Waterson is a genius, creating a comic that not only appeals to kids but adults as well. I never get tired of reading his strips. I always find new things and hidden meanings in Calvin's bratty actions. This comic is the reason why I wanted to become a cartoonist.
Bone-An original, captivating story paired up with fantastic artwork. What more can I say?
Studio Ghibli-Wow. The stories are unique, the artwork is whimsical and amazing, the feelings are genuine and heartfelt. Everything about them-asjkdfjkhdsahjkh I've made it my goal to see all their movies...and fangirl about it.
Pixar-My biggest inspiration. My mother worked there as a sculptor and I've had the privilage of touring it twice. The working atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the movies are...well...godly and the people are super nice. Plus they have a really good resturant on the ground floor. My goal is to intern there in my sopmore year of college. If I do that I will die happy.
Lauren Faust-she created two of my favorite shows-MLP and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. For that reason she earns her spot on this list.
Gravity Falls-My favorite cartoon. Its witty, original, and side-splitingly funny. I came in watching it convinced that cartoons were taking a nosedive in quality. Gravity Falls gives me reassurance that the era of good cartoons is coming back. Plus I modeled the eye style for my eyes.
Sharpie91-My idol. Her fantastic, amazing, beautiful artwork made me go into digital art. If I met her in real life I'd ask for her autograph. Then faint.
Wicked-My favorite musical. It is seriously the best musical out there. Even if you don't like Oz you will find something about this musical to squee about. I have the songbook and I never get tired of singing the showtunes. Popular is my best one, Defying Gravity leaves me horase, though.
Behindtg-Behindtg got me into Pokemon roleplaying groups, digital art and, well, pokemon in general. At first I was convinced that Pokemon was just a kiddie, nostalgic show. Her artwork convinced me that Pokemon can be brought to a whole another, more adult, level. I blame her for all my roleplaying.
The Beatles-They're musical masters and I never get tired of listening to their songs. Their biography is fasinating too. Messed up, sure, but fasinating.
Kung Fu Panda-The concept is ludicirous but once you watch the films you fall in love with the world they create.
Pokemon-This was my childhood. Now its my life.
Rise of the Guardians-Need I say more? The number of pieces in my gallery dedicated to this one movie speaks for themselves.
Mario-The artwork in these games are stunning. I never get tired of seeing my brother rescue Peach from Bowser, or knocking down paper koopas in Paper Mario. Mario is the reason why I got into gaming.
The Muppets-I loved the muppets even before the new movie came out. This was the thing my dad and I bonded over when I was younger. Rainbow Connection was my first song I learned professionally. I can sing it pitch-perfectly now.
