A centaur's external anatomy is easier to work with than their internals. (Yes, I'm the nitwit who long ago created a Centaur External Anatomy glossary page.) There are certain -- gaps, however.

This is how my taurs (and not coincidentally I hope Zia gets behind that thingie soon because I want to compare notes for my naga-shaped) are built in my Zekiran setting! They also have a 'hind brain' to take care of the autonomic nerves and movement while their head-brain takes care of thoughts and such. I would personally have put much bigger lungs in the upper area but that's my guys :D

I feel like a singular giraffe proportioned heart would be sufficient to circulate blood throughout the body while the 'lungs' in the human half are more like air sacs that act as bellows to help quickly inflate the second lungs, the Bronchial passage being double valved to ensure a precise amount of air flow control and to safeguard against drowning and choking when walking, speaking, resting or galloping.

Does Zia have a similar organ map to Chloe? I imagine her lungs being housed in four distinct hemidiaphragms, one for each lung/air sac, allowing for active respiration with otherwise serpent anatomy apart from a heart similar to Chloe's.

and in her human waist part there is practically nothing, so she have no excuse to not be waify.

If she ever gets pregnant it will be down below, but as I said before, the result of such a mating would properly be some kind of wierd human horse hybrid.

It will properly be brigtly coloured too, and have some kind of oddly specific birth mark on his or her two flanks

rphbrphb In reply to SonicClone [2023-01-09 08:00:19 +0000 UTC]

no I think the result would be something like an mlp.

There is a big difference between a chimera like these two and a hybrid.

A hybrid is a mix of two or more beings but their entire being is that mix, a chimera on the other hand, have parts that are one being and parts that are another. Part of her is human, and part of her is horse. Centaur is not a thing in itself, unlike say a Yinglet

Huh. Different take on C.S. Lewis's, "A centaur has a man-stomach and a horse-stomach, and both want food" but then again Chole doesn't eat grass.

then why does Chole use only the horse stomach instead of both stomachs like other centaur hybrids have.

This 94641-6709755 really does look like something a mad scientist like Zia would use. Although the Google for it gave yopto rays which looks a lot more like a phaser

jkrolakjkrolak In reply to 3089088 [2023-05-26 19:43:56 +0000 UTC]

A fluoroscope is more than a simple basic x-ray. Unlike the x-ray simple, you get a real-time moving images of the interior of an object.

It uses x-rays, but it is like comparing a photograph to a television. With a modern fluoroscope it is like comparing an old time tube set to the latest 4D super sized LED screens.

๐Ÿ‘: 1 โฉ: 1

30890883089088 In reply to jkrolak [2023-05-27 02:50:32 +0000 UTC]

so that's the difference between fluoroscopes, yopto rays, and x-rays itself.

Honestly given how complicated the Standard Model is, and that we still know from relativity that itโ€™s incomplete, it wouldnโ€™t surprise me if out there somewhere just waiting to be found, thereโ€™s a high-energy boson or a lepton with an imaginary component. Thereโ€™s only one known scalar boson, after all, and it would be surprising if there werenโ€™t more with increasingly exotic properties.

๐Ÿ‘: 1 โฉ: 1

Gavros963Gavros963 In reply to phantom-inker [2023-01-09 08:43:21 +0000 UTC]

Personally I doubt it... since i is part of the Schrodinger equation any lepton or boson with an imaginary component would likely act... bizarre...

Take my take on the yopto rays, Immaginary frequency means that the photons either have imaginary energy or momentum, or both, and what would either of those things mean?

We don't even see negative energy after all.

Ooo, I know! Letโ€™s just imaginary all the things and skip complex numbers and go straight to quaternions for everything! Charge, mass, spin, the whole nine yards! When in doubt, add another incomprehensible parameter! Wait, wait, why stop at four? Octernions for the win! With 22 extra parameters per particle, we can do anything! Time is a thirteen-dimensional hypersphere! The stars are made of tofu! Dark matter is lost dryer socks! Light is dark and dark is light and therefore zebras donโ€™t exist!

I mean the extra capacity is necessary. Reaching that capacity by having more organs instead of just bigger organs is optional, yes.

I don't think it's necessary, but it's definitely useful

DannyAndYokoDannyAndYoko In reply to hkmaly [2025-04-22 10:20:35 +0000 UTC]

A 2nd brain would also mean she'd be having to fight for control of the body, to the horse brain.

Unless the horse brain is fine with her being control, seeing she's smarter and the horse probably rather obedient to a human rider.
